William Alexander is the author of six novels for Middle Grade readers, which include National Book Award winner Goblin Secrets (McElderry, 2012), Mythopoetic Award finalist Ghoulish Song (McElderry, 2013), Eleanor Cameron Award winner Ambassador (McElderry, 2014), and Cybils Award finalist A Properly Unhaunted Place (McElderry, 2017). His first novel for grownups is forthcoming from Saga Press in 2025.
His short stories have appeared in several anthologies, including Interfictions 2 (Small Beer, 2009), Other Worlds Than These (Night Shade, 2012), Unbroken (FSG, 2018), Disabled People Destroy Science Fiction (Uncanny, 2018), Sunspot Jungle (Rosarium, 2019), Speculative Fiction for Dreamers (Mad Creek, 2021), and Tasting Light: Ten Science Fiction Stories to Rewire Your Perceptions (MITeen, 2022).
Will attended the Clarion Workshop in 2006. He lives in Vermont with his family and teaches at VCFA.
